Equitable Business Model

Business models in Guam are traditionally structured top-down and hierarchical that focus on maximizing profits for one or two owners. It is not an equitable business model and puts too much power at the top, leaving room for exploitation, hence a large disparity with income inequality in our society.

Pacificnesian Equities is structured as a  benefit cooperative, meaning it is owned and controlled by members focused on providing specific benefits for the community, making it more egalitarian, democratic, and equitable for all. The three benefits it pursues are

  1. Strive to provide better benefits and wages to workers.

  2. Strive for business practices and procedures that are environmentally friendly and sustainable

  3. Strive for healthy profits that first benefits people and planet.
